Council for Business with Britain (CBB)

Background

The Council for Business with Britain (CBB) describes itself as a “non-political, not-for-profit organization, democratically accountable to individual businesses of all sizes”. The main aim stated is to promote “two way trade between Sri Lanka and the United Kingdom”. It is located at The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce, Colombo 02, which also provides secretarial services to CBB.[1]

CBB lists Ceylon Tobacco Company PLC (CTC) as a member in its Membership Directory [1]

Management

The CBB is under the patronage of the British High Commissioner in Sri Lanka. It is governed by an Executive Committee appointed annually at the AGM.

Links with the Tobacco Industry

CTC is represented in the CBB Executive Committee by the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO).[1] The CTC CEOs who were appointed to the Executive Committee are listed below with respective years;
