Kushan De Alwis

Background

Shirley Mahinda Kushan De Alwis was appointed to the Board of Ceylon Tobacco Company PLC (CTC) as an Independent Non-Executive Director with effect from 20 April 2022.

Kushan De Alwis is an old boy of S. Thomas’ College, Mount Lavinia. After graduating from Sri Lanka Law College, he took oaths as an Attorney-at-Law in 1985.

Kushan De Alwis was appointed a President’s Counsel on 11 October 2012 by President Mahinda Rajapaksa and he has continued to practice as a President’s Counsel since then. Also Kushan was a Member of the Public Representations Committee on Constitutional Reform appointed by the Cabinet of Ministers in the year 2016.
