Towhid Akbar was appointed as the Finance Director of Ceylon Tobacco Company PLC (CTC) on 1 April 2023. Ceylon Tobacco Company PLC (CTC), which holds the monopoly of cigarette manufacturing and sales in Sri Lanka, is a subsidiary of British American Tobacco (BAT).[1]
Akbar is a Bangladeshi national. He got his primary and secondary education from Faujdarhat Cadet School, Chattogram. He holds two master’s degrees from University of London, United Kingdom and the Institute of Business Administration, Bangladesh. He is a Fellow of Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA) and Certified Practising Accountant Australia (CPA).[2][1]
