Background

Monisha Abrahim has been appointed the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Ceylon Tobacco Company PLC (CTC) from 1 December 2021 (Image 1). Ceylon Tobacco Company PLC (CTC), which holds the monopoly of cigarette manufacturing and sales in Sri Lanka, is a subsidiary of British American Tobacco (BAT). Abraham was the Managing Director of International Beverages Corporation, a subsidiary of Heineken International, an alcohol manufacturing company. She has joined the Heineken International in 2005 and has held various positions in different countries.
